Information for Geology Majors

The Geology program emphasizes the breadth of the field and is designed to prepare students for careers or graduate study with a solid understanding of the fundamentals. With faculty strength in applied geophysics, coastal geology, geochemistry, geomorphology, geoscience education, hydrogeology, paleobiology, petrology, and volcanology students have the opportunity to tailor their degree to their interests. It is recommended that students considering a career in the field or graduate study should pursue the Bachelor of Science degree. Students enrolled in the B.S. in Geology will participate in six credits of a Capstone Field Camp.

Students requiring a permit to register should refer to the Request a Permit link for requesting course permits.
